Change.

Change sucks. No really. It sucks. Change means leaving your comfort zone (where things were going completely fine) and jumping into a new situation, one that’s unfamiliar and uncomfy.

I recently found that this little thing we call “change” is pretty hard to avoid. For example, moving to college changed the fact that I can’t hug my dog goodnight every night before bed. (if we’re being honest here, that was one of my hardest adaptations in college.) Change is inevitable. It happens to everyone. If it didn’t, life would be pretty boring.

Sometimes, things change unexpectedly. Some are for the better, some aren’t. However, the situation usually ends up alright in the long run. Someone told me today that change isn’t always bad. Change can lead to newer and happier things. At the end of this year, i will be a junior, many of my close friends will graduate and my absolute best friend will be transferring to Iowa State. Needless to say, this change will not be easy. But, it provides me with new opportunities. I can’t wait to visit Cassidy at Iowa State, and I can’t wait to hear all about my friends’ grown up lives in the new world!

There is no stopping change. It’s going to happen. I know it’s cheesy…but embrace change. It will make it so much easier! It’s natural to be sad when things change or end, like when you graduate, move to a new city, or the Harry Potter series ends. However, enjoy living in the moment before things change.

At some point, something in your life will change…but don’t panic. Instead, think of all the adventures that lie ahead. Life doesn’t stop for anyone. So, buckle up, sit back, and enjoy the ride.

Love and Hugs,
